The Hendrik Nehls Infamous Trio follows the tradition of the great piano trios in jazz. Musical reference points include the legendary groups of Oscar Peterson, Ahmad Jamal, Gene Harris and Benny Green, as well as the Ray Brown Trio. Swing, close musical communication and the special energy of a compact, well-rehearsed line-up are at the heart of the sound.
The trio combines the elegance and clarity of the classic piano trio with a direct, lively approach. The double bass is not merely the foundation, but an equal voice in the musical conversation. Alongside swing, the repertoire also includes blues, bossa nova and selected jazz standards.
